Valeport Midas WLR, Valeport MiniTide and Valeport 740 tide gauges
Valeport tide gauges are used for sea level measurement, which is required for every survey operation.
Tide gauges can be installed from shore. Data is transferred ashore across the wire and then can be
transmitted via radio on survey vessel. It is possible to deploy the gauge deep on seabed before an
operation starts and uplift it after the end of operation. After that acquired data can be imported
into processing software and processed in common with echo sounding data. Level measurement accuracy
depends on sensor installation depth. It is usually about 0.1 %.
Valeport Midas CTD fitted with temperature, salinity, water conductivity and water pressure sensors placed
into light body for sound velocity measurement.
SVP-15 and SVPlus use the “axle base” principium. There is inbuilt audiosensor radiating signal on permanent distance
of the “axle base”. Sound velocity value calculated by means of audio signal speed of transmission inside the “axle base”.
