M/V Vladimir Sukhotsky

The MV Vladimir Sukhotsky is a dedicated Hydrographic Research Vessel, which is able to carry out wide spectrum of geodetic and geophysical works such as:
  • Surveys for offshore constructions and pipelines
  • Pipeline route surveys
  • Seabed clearance surveys
  • Hydrographic surveys
  • Geotechnical/ecological sampling
The vessel is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment like two independent DGPS positioning and satellite communication systems, geological prospecting system, High Resolution Seismic multi channel profiling system etc.
The vessel is based in the South East Asia Region and available for survey projects worldwide.

Single-beam echo-sounders Odom Hydrographic Echotrac and Hydrotrac

Echotrac and Hydrotrac are high precision echo-sounders. Radiation frequency is 24 KHz and 200 KHz. Accuracy of depth taking makes 1 cm +/- 0.1 % from depth. They are intended for echo sounding on depths from 1 to 500 meters. Data collection can be carried out with Trimble HydroPRO software or QPS QINSy software.


Side-scan sonars EdgeTech 4200 and C-Max CM-2

EdgeTech 4200 and C-Max CM-2 are well-reputed around the world side-scan sonars. Combined with EdgeTech Discover and QPS QINSy software they allow data collection in digital format and further processing in Triton Elics ISIS software with mosaic construction (seabed imagery) according to the data from unlimited quantity of survey lines.


Multibeam echo-sounders Reson SeaBat-8101 and 7125

Multibeam echo-sounders are used for survey works on big spaces with assured complete cover of seabed, for collecting detailed information.

Romona Inc is the first acquirer of Reson-8101 multibeam echo-sounder in Russian Federation. 101 beams of this echo-sounder allow to define seabed elevation in zone sevenfold wider than value of depth. For instance, if value of depth is 50m than coverage area would be 350m. Data collection and processing is carried out in QINSy software. Multibeam echo-sounder system Reson SeaBat-8101 conforms to IHO and USAGE Class 1 standards.

Acoustic Tracking Systems Sonardyne Fusion and TrackLink 1500

Acoustic tracking systems are designed for precise positioning of underwater objects, their parameters and motion trajectories relative to base vessel in real time.

Romona Inc is the first acquirer of underwater sonar positioning system Sonardyne Fusion.
Fusion USBL is the most perfect acoustic positioning system with ultra-short base created by Sonardyne Company. This system dedicated for positioning of underwater objects on up to 7000m depth.

Satellite DGPS systems C-Nav and Veripos

Ñ-Nav system is a totally new concept in DGPS. User can receive orbit and clock corrections via satellite channel instead of correction data for pseudorange to each GPS satellite. Therefore, quality of stationing doesn’t depend on distance between user and reference station. C-Nav service is avaliable all round the world and C-Nav's positioning is just as accurate in both marine and land environments. The system’s accuracy is 0.5m in high-precision mode and 1-2m in standard mode.

Veripos system is a worldwide leader in high-precision positioning. Veripos provides service of differentiated GPS corrections for oil and gas industry. It also allows worldwide support services and data delivery for high-precision positioning programs.

Veripos system includes satellite an HF receivers, single and double frequencies GNSS equipment and antennas. GNSS equipment includes RF range satellite-aided decoders (390 - 1550) MHz, GNSS receivers for NAVSTAR and GLONASS.


DeltaFix, RadioLink and DeltaLink radio DGPS systems

Differential corrections are transmitted via UHF and MF-range radio channels. In DeltaFix and RadioLink systems data are transmitted on two frequencies at one time to make them more fail-safe. DeltaFix range is 300 km, RadioLink range is 130 km and DeltaLink range is 20 km. DeltaFix and RadioLink accuracy is 1-2m. Delta Fix system can be utilized for correction data transmitting with centimeter accuracy.


Trimble RTK GPS systems

Trimble is the most authoritative company producing GPS equipment. Romona Inc has been utilizing Trimble GPS equipment since 1994. There are a few tens of these receivers in Romona Inc receivers stock. Trimble RTK GPS systems provide centimeter accuracy in real time and can be used during various offshore and onshore operations.


Meridian Surveyor, Octans and Orion INS gyrocompasses

Gyrocompass Meridian Surveyor is a standard of relative bearing transmitter for offshore surveys. This model is very popular because of its reliability, quality and compact size. True heading determination accuracy of this gyrocompass is 0.1°.

Fiber-optic gyrocompass and motion sensor, Octans is known for its robustness, precision and ease of use. As well as being a survey-grade gyrocompass, it provides Roll, Pitch, Surge, Sway, Heave, Speed and Acceleration data, as well as true heading.

Orion INS has been specifically designed for the demanding hydrographic survey, offshore construction and ROV operations markets. Orion incorporates three single axis ring laser elements and three highly accurate accelerometers. These specific components, widely used in many of the world’s commercial aircraft, were chosen for Orion because of availability, accuracy and their very high meantime between failures. These core elements enabled the TSS research and development team to design this high specification Inertial Navigation System.
Orion utilises the latest version of the TSS inertial algorithm which has over 30 years of pedigree providing outstanding performance in all sea conditions.

TSS DMS 2-05, SMC S-108 è IMU-108 swell compensators

Swell compensators measure angular deviation from gravity vector direction in two planes, vertical displacement and velocity of this values alteration. It allows compensation of rolling influence in real time during offshore surveys. Angular values accuracy is 0.1° and heave accuracy is 0.1 m.

The DMS 2-05 is designed for a wide range of tasks, from enabling highly productive swath survey from all small launches to providing safety-critical helideck monitoring on FPSO's. The DMS provides accurate motion measurement in all sea conditions incorporating external velocity aiding for additional performance during dynamic maneuvers. DMS provides real time heave, pitch and roll in analogue and digital formats.

SMC sensors S-108 series
SMC has developed the SMC sensor range of Gyro Motion Sensors to meet the requirements of the marine sector. With the use of the latest technology, high precision algorithms, and patented advanced software SMC motion systems provide quality solutions for the most demanding environments.

The SMCsensor range of Gyro Motion sensors uses the latest inclinometer technology with gyro to provide accurate, real-time motion measurements with high dynamic accuracy during accelerations. The SMCsensor has high temperature stability.

SMC Calibration software makes the sensor installation simple and allows user configuration and set up of multiple parameters.

Valeport Midas WLR, Valeport MiniTide and Valeport 740 tide gauges

Valeport tide gauges are used for sea level measurement, which is required for every survey operation. Tide gauges can be installed from shore. Data is transferred ashore across the wire and then can be transmitted via radio on survey vessel. It is possible to deploy the gauge deep on seabed before an operation starts and uplift it after the end of operation. After that acquired data can be imported into processing software and processed in common with echo sounding data. Level measurement accuracy depends on sensor installation depth. It is usually about 0.1 %.


Valeport Midas CTD, Reson SVP-15 and SVPlus v2 (Applied Microsystems) underwater sound velocity meters

Valeport Midas CTD fitted with temperature, salinity, water conductivity and water pressure sensors placed into light body for sound velocity measurement.

SVP-15 and SVPlus use the “axle base” principium. There is inbuilt audiosensor radiating signal on permanent distance of the “axle base”. Sound velocity value calculated by means of audio signal speed of transmission inside the “axle base”.

Total Stations and geodetic levels

Conventional angular instruments and levels are indispensable for onshore survey operations. Romona Inc utilizes Nikon and Topcon Total Stations, CST/Berger levels and production of Uralian Optical Mechanics Plant.



Acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCP)

Teledyne RD Instruments (USA) current profilers enable measurement of current speed and direction on defined quantity of horizons simultaneously. Operating principle of this equipment is based on Doppler Effect. Current profilers are fitted with inbuilt temperature and pressure sensors. Current profile can be obtained on up to 300 m depth. Current speed measurements accuracy is 0.5 cm per second.

The equipment can record data on inner storing device ( bottom station ) or in real time ( on vessel or drilling platform).


Ice Profiling Sonars (IPS)

Ice profiling sonars created by Canadian Company ASL enable measurements of ice cover underwater part thickness.

Equipment is installed as a bottom station, which can be fitted with ADCP for ice drift velocity measurement. IPS-4 represents a single beam echo sounder with inbuilt pressure sensor. Ice cover underwater part thickness is detected by measuring distance between transmitter and ice cover lower edge and then it’s subtraction from depth value collected by pressure sensor.


DataWell wave meter

DataWell (Holland) wave meter enables sea observations (wave height, direction, period measurement). The device is fitted with inbuilt radio transmitter .In combined utilization of receiver it enables heaving observation in real time mode.


Vaisala weather station

Vaisala weather station enables measuring of basic meteorological parameters such as temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction, atmospheric pressure, amount of solar radiation, amount of precipitation, snow cover height etc. The weather station is equipped with solar batteries which enable operations in offline mode.


ROV Seaeye Falcon

The Seaeye Falcon is a compact ROV suitable for a variety of observation and inspection tasks. The ROV is particularly suited to rig support eyeball operations were it sets the highest standards due to its exceptional power to weight ratio.
